How To Memorize Music

Описание: Hey everybody, my name is Jordan and I am a full time music teacher and piano player. I love making YouTube videos about self development especially in regards to music education. In this video I'm sharing about how I have learned to memorize challenging music quickly.

The steps for memorizing is as follows.
1. Make a practice goal, it's usually a measure, but could be as small as 1-2 beats and as long as 4-8 measures.
2. Look for patterns, that could be scales, chords, shapes, etc. This will make memorizing much easier if you can put a formula or reason to the notes.
3. Play 3-5 times while looking at the music.
4. Play it 3-5 times without looking at the music.
5. Start to put the pieces together and repeat.
