Why did God become human? What is the meaning of the Incarnation? In this sermon, we explore Philippians 2 and why Jesus chose to take on human nature.
This message explains the Incarnation, why God limited Himself, and what it means that Jesus is fully God and fully man.
Why would the all-powerful, all-knowing God choose weakness, growth, hunger, fatigue, and even limitation? Why would Jesus step into human experience instead of remaining distant?
In Philippians 2:5–7, we discover that Jesus did not cling to His divine privileges, but emptied Himself and took on the nature of a servant. In the Incarnation, God didn’t just reveal Himself from a distance — He came close.
This sermon explores:
The meaning of the Incarnation
Why God became human
What it means that Jesus is fully God and fully man
Why God chose to limit Himself
How Jesus reveals the heart of the Father
Why God is committed to being known
If you’ve ever wondered who God really is, what He’s like, or whether He is distant or personal — the Incarnation gives us the answer.
“Anyone who has seen me has seen the Father.” — John 14:9
