The IT film adaptations, based on Stephen King's 1986 horror novel, are a two-part series that reimagines the terrifying story of the Losers’ Club, a group of kids who confront a shape-shifting, child-killing entity known as Pennywise. The 2017 film, IT, directed by Andy Muschietti, focuses on the Losers as children in 1989, with Bill Skarsgård’s portrayal of Pennywise becoming iconic for its disturbing and unsettling presence. The film expertly blends horror with coming-of-age elements, exploring themes of fear, friendship, and trauma. It was a commercial success and reinvigorated interest in King's works, earning praise for its performances, particularly by the young cast, and its ability to balance scares with emotional depth.

The sequel, IT Chapter Two (2019), picks up 27 years later, with the Losers returning to Derry as adults to face Pennywise once again. Muschietti returned as director, and the film delves deeper into the characters' pasts and unresolved fears. The adult cast, including Jessica Chastain, James McAvoy, and Bill Hader, brought a mature complexity to the roles. While Chapter Two received mixed reviews compared to its predecessor, it still succeeded in delivering a haunting and visually stunning conclusion to the story, though some felt its runtime and pacing were uneven.
