Here's a Shadows tune that I always enjoyed, a 12-bar blues/rock classic originally recorded in 1964, "The Rise And Fall Of Flingel Bunt"...

I LOVE the original, but then I saw a DVD of Hank in 1995, duetting on this with his son Ben, and it turned into much more of a jam...I then saw the two of them perform this again in 2004 on the DVD of "The Strat Pack: 50 Years Of The Fender Stratocaster",following much the same arrangement as in 1995.

I told myself I wouldn't do this tune until I got a backing for that arrangement; Well...I finally got it !

My friend and subscriber Phil McGarrick (YT user name random275) put together along with his son Andy this incredible backing track that really hit the mark !

I then chose to pay homage to both versions, by using my Burns Apache to represent the 1964 version which Hank played on his Burns Marvin guitar. This guitar is featured through the entire 1st part, which is the "C" Major section, completely clean.

When the track modulates to "D" Flat and then "D" Major, I switch to my Carvin BOLT to reflect Hank's Fender HBM Strat which he uses on the 1995 & 2004 versions, with a bit of overdrive.

Ben Marvin used a Fender Strat plus, with a humbucker pickup in the bridge, and for that, as well as a crunched rhythm track, I went to my Carvin CT-624, my "go to" solid body guitar.

I then proceeded to duet with myself, taking Hank's part stereo left and Ben's part ( with all the crazy finger tapping that Ben likes to do) stereo right.

This may be my FAVORITE post to date...It was a toatl blast and a great jam !
