Isaac and Steven’s celebration at Dunskey Estate was the kind of wedding that reminds us why we make films in the first place. A same sex wedding in Scotland already carries its own sense of freedom, but these two added something even more powerful. They brought people across oceans for a few days of real connection. Friends who had never met. Families who might never cross paths again. All gathered in a place that feels a little outside of time.

Dunskey has always been special to us. We’ve filmed several same sex weddings here, and every time we come back, it feels like stepping into that mix of old world charm and modern romance that Isaac and Steven spoke about from the very beginning. They wanted a space that held history but felt open. Warm. Magical in its own quiet way. They found exactly that here.

Their wedding unfolded over two days. The first brought everything you’d expect from a destination wedding done right. Emotional vows. Big laughs. People fully present. The second day leaned into pure joy with laser tag in the woods, archery on the estate grounds and a fire feast that turned into one of those nights nobody wants to end.

From the start, they told us they wanted a film that wasn’t cookie-cutter. Something that felt like them. Something that captured personalities as clearly as the moments. That’s always been at the heart of what we do, and it was a privilege to create a film worthy of their story.
