A quiet, cinematic tour of the Dogma Prize 2025 exhibition. In this silent vlog, we visit the Dogma Collection in Ho Chi Minh City to explore the latest finalists of Vietnam's most prestigious self-portraiture art prize.
Experience the atmosphere of the gallery and take a closer look at the diverse artworks, ranging from contemporary painting and sculpture to new media installations. This video is a visual diary of my afternoon immersed in the Vietnamese art scene.
📍 About the Dogma Prize The Dogma Prize is Vietnam's only art prize dedicated exclusively to the theme of self-portraiture. It aims to encourage artists to turn their gaze inward and express their identity through various mediums.
📝 In this video:

🏆 The 9 Dogma Prize 2025 Awardees
1. Hà Đào
o Work: If Heaven Awaits

2. Đỗ Văn Hoàng
o Work: The Tofu Maker's Son
o Look for: A short film (approx. 20 mins) shown inside a shelter-like structure. It blends fiction and documentary about family history and Hong Kong refugee camps.

o Look for: Delicate script embroidered onto fabric using bamboo flowers. This installation spans across three different levels in the stairwell area.
5. Hằng Hằng
o Work: Unforgotten Land
o Look for: A work that glows softly in a darkened space, composed of real hair stitched and pressed onto fabric.
6. Hul Kanha (Cambodia)
o Work: Plates of the Passed
o Look for: An installation of roughly 50 papier-mâché sculptures floating on thin poles, painted with vibrant colors and incorporating black-and-white family photos.
7. Nguyễn Đức Tín

o Look for: Black mosquito nets with slits that reveal religious portraits (Our Lady of La Vang) and Catholic martyrs.
8. Thuỷ Tiên Nguyễn
o Work: Untitled (Notes on romance and cities)
o Look for: Miniature sculptures hidden inside wooden boxes (look for a tiny couple or armchairs on a spinning stage) accompanied by looped street sounds.
9. Bi Tuyền
o Work: Seven Green Beans
o Look for: A monochromatic painting that mixes Western modernist styles with nostalgic Vietnamese domestic imagery.
