In this video I will show you how to install the Shelly EM Smart Energy Meter and how to integrate it into Home Assistant so that you can view your energy usage and create scripts and automations to better manage your energy consumption. I will also show you some of my own scenes that make use of the readings from the Shelly EM in order to effectively manage the free energy I get from my solar panels installation. Integration into Home Assistant is as simple as using version 0.115 which has a native Shelly integration or using Shelly4Hass integration, but for that you need to install the HACS Home Assistant Community Store. There are some excellent BurnsHA, Bearded Thinker, PinkyWafer or Smart Home Junkie, just search youtube for "hacs home assistant install". I tested the Shelly EM against my solar inverter and the measurements are pretty similar, so for the price I don't think you can find a better Smart Energy Meter on the market.
