Treat your Book like a Business
Successful authors treat their books like a business, as a non-fiction book is like a luxury business card.
Non-fiction authors recover their investment of publishing their book by having a program, course, or service that is based on their book.
This is true whether you write a solo book, or a chapter in a multi-author book.
There are infinite ways to do this, but it comes down to having a link, or links in your book that take the reader to your site. From there, they can join your email list and be subscribed to a funnel that upsells them to a program. And when you launch the program, you suggest that the students buy the book for background reading.
This way, you get more sales of your book and you get more clients for your programs.
That’s why for all my author clients, whether solo or co-author, we focus on this principle.
What’s your chapter or book about?
What’s the program?
What’s the webinar, or masterclass or challenge to upsell people into your program?
What’s the lead magnet that is before the program to grow your audience?
These need to be in alignment.
Then you can rinse and repeat.
From here, you can have an advanced program, a mastermind, or a 1:1 service.
This creates an ecosystem, a platform that is based on your book or the story of your chapter.
It’s important to me that the co-authors of my multi-author books recover their investment plus a profit when the book launches.
Even if you have published a book, and it doesn’t get enough sales, you can implement a system like this.
