Описание: Real GOLD jewelry at the landfill — and that's not even the best find of the day. A Sony PlayStation 3, copper from a UPS power supply, a gold pendant, all just sitting in the trash.
The smell hits you the moment you step onto the landfill. Awful, even in the cold. But when you follow the bulldozer and suddenly spot gold — everything else stops mattering. First came aluminum housing with copper coils, a brass faucet, a pile of stranded copper wire. A cracked HP laptop battery with a controller board containing trace gold and silver. A Xiaomi phone — aerospace aluminum body, precious metals in the chips. Then a brooch that looks like silver, and right next to it — a small pendant. I check it. It's gold. A find like that pays for every minute spent searching.
But the real surprise came later. A UPS power supply unit — lead-acid battery, copper transformer winding, circuit board. A whole bag of wires that fell off a garbage truck. And almost at the very end — a Sony PlayStation 3. Copper in the motherboard, gold on connector contacts and inside the processors, silver and palladium in the tiny surface-mount components, a gold-plated hard drive board, powerful magnets. Someone threw away an entire precious metals mine.
