of the Macmillan Primary course Global Stage.
These reading lessons in Global Stage aim to support the development of literacy and to foster a love of reading, to encourage students to become lifelong readers.
Digital storytelling is helpful because it engages students in a way that is both visual and auditory, as well as textual. Learners can make connections to previous experiences more easily, think critically about new information, and use their own knowledge to fill out any gaps in understanding.
Videos can be used as part of the overall reading strategy: as a way of engaging students with the text; as part of the process of analysis; and as a tool to help them interact with the text on a more personal level.
