Stage: Unique Weapon Acquisition Battle 9 (DLC)
• Liao Hua, Lei Tong, Wang Ping (11:23), Huang Zhong (12:02), Zhou Yu and Lu Su (12:35) are super officers in this stage.

Weapon 1:
• Phoenix Fire Blade (H) 61+10:
Slash, Explosive, Flurry, Velocity, Jubilation, Triumph

Weapon 2:
• Imperial Fire Blade (E) 44+10:
Slash, Thunder, Flurry, Velocity, Jubilation, Triumph

DLC Exhibition:
• This is a DLC weapon showcase video, so I will refrain from using (Air) Musou and (True) Rage Musou for offense. There are no 6-star or alternative 5-star DLC weapons on console for the western release.

Analysis:
• From its speed, flashy attacks and technical mechanic, Flame Blade can be a very fun weapon. It is a decent weapon too, but held back by the game's inability to properly program gimmick buffs.

• The gimmick to the Flame Blade is the flame buff Levels (can visually display incorrectly in-game):
[0] = no fire
[1] = tip of the blade has fire
[2] = entire blade is on fire
[3] (max) = entire blade is glowing with a rainbow-greenish fire, the fire is also bigger

• Each charge attack will build up the flame buff. At least [1] is required for the weapon to Shadow Sprint (seriously?). Levels also change the animation of C6. And of course, C6 [3] is the best, but it takes a while to build up. Alternatively, the character can run around on the ground to build up flame buff. Here are the Levels for each Charge Attack:
C1, C2, C4, C5 = adds 1
C3... (full tap △) = adds 3
C6 = no Levels, brings it down to [0]
Jump Charge (JC) = adds 1
Shadow Sprint = either maintains the Level or defaults it to [1] if C6 was performed before it

• Earlier, I mentioned about "the game's inability to properly program gimmick buffs." This is referring to the flame buff on the weapon. There are various ways to lose the buff for nonsense reasons. Conditions for flame buff to drop to [0] if:
Getting flinched
Getting flinched by enemy Musou-counter while under Rage
Switch Attack (SA)
Performing a Musou
Riding a horse (this is okay, since Flame Blade's gimmick is to have it run along the ground)

• Rebuffing after a flinch can make Flame Blade very annoying to play since it is only good with the buff. Gimmick buffs like Daqiao's and Xingcai's Air Musou will get erased if they get flinched. Bladebow (DLC) C1 buff also shares the same problem with the same conditions.

Movesets:
• Shadow Sprint (-SS) is an extremely crucial mechanic on Flame Blade. As long as the flame is at least [1], remember to follow up with a -SS to maintain the buff and speed up recovery. Note that the -SS input window for C6 [1-3] is VERY brief. -SS ahead of time rather than later.

• C6 [0-3] is always guard break, thus making its main offense very susceptible to Musou-counter (and losing the buff). C6 [0] only contains an element and cannot be cancelled with Shadow Sprint (0:39). Cyclone is incompatible with C6.

• C6 [1-2] will have the Flame Blade spin with a forward momentum. This carries up to 6 elements and will drop the flame buff down back to [0] unless it is cancelled with a -SS to maintain it at [1].

• C6 [3] behaves the same as [1-2], but the character will follow up the spin with a stab on the ground, causing an eruption which can combo refill Rage fairly well (2:32). The eruption carries at least 5 elements, giving C6 [3] a grand total of ~11-ish elemental activation. Similar to C6 [1-2], follow up C6 [3] with a -SS to maintain a [1] flame. If not, it will drop to [0].

• Jump Charge (JC) is Flame Blade's best friend as it grants [1] flame. Hopping off the horse with a JC is the quickest way to get [1] (0:32, etc.). This tech will be used throughout the video.

• C1(x3) is one way to build flame if the character is already on the ground.

• C2→JC→C1 as opposed to C1(x3) will give your character "presence" and therefore, will prevent officers from walking in. This will only work if the enemy officer isn't a playable with an Affinity advantage.

• C3... (full tap △) for an extended C3. An extended C3 will grant [3].

• Storm Rush is viable because C6 [1-3] shatters it fairly well. If elemental RNG is not on your side, the multi-hit and guard break property will eventually shatter Storm Rush (1:09, 6:04, 9:51, 11:23).

Option(s):
• Havoc is recommended since the swings have awkward hitboxes. The extra range also helps it outrange enemy melee attacks to minimize flinches.

• Triumph on both weapons helps it build Rage as quick and as much as possible per stage. With Rage active, Musou-counter flinch is the most common way to lose the buff.

• Flurry on both weapon is to boost Storm Rush damage since it shatters it fairly well.
