Bugün İstanbul'un sahil şeridinde, binlerce kuşun sesi ve bir kedinin vakur duruşu eşliğinde; babam Nazmi Yılmaz'ın 'düşünen figürü'ne uzanan bir iç yolculuğa çıkıyoruz. Hiçlikte Bir An'ın peşinde, bir resmin çizgilerinden bugünün gerçekliğine bir köprü kuruyoruz.

İstanbul'u bir Flâneuse olarak dolaşırken bugün karşılaştığım tatlı ama hüzünlü ve çevresiyle sessiz bir bağ içinde olan kediden gözümü alamadım bir süre ve babamın resmi aklıma geldi. 🐈🐱 Sert betonun üzerinde yumuşak ve narin gövdesiyle öylece oturuyor. Teknelerin, kayaların arasında ve manzaraya karşı hem özgür hem yalnız görünüyor. Gri-beyaz tüyleri arka plandaki durgun deniz ve gri havayla bütünlük içinde.

Zaman değişir -mi? Mekan değişir ama o An'daki sakinlik kalıcıdır. Babamın o sahildeki hayali bugün bir kedinin duruşunda canlanıyor.

A Morning as a Flâneuse in Istanbul | Japanese Messy & Coastal Diary

Today, along the shores of Istanbul, accompanied by the sound of thousands of birds and the dignified presence of a street cat, I embark on an inner journey toward my father Nazmi Yılmaz's 'thinking figure.' Chasing 'A Moment in Emptiness' (Hiçlikte Bir An), I build a bridge from the lines of a painting to the reality of today.

While wandering Istanbul as a Flâneuse, I couldn't take my eyes off a sweet yet melancholic cat, quietly connected to its surroundings. It immediately reminded me of my father's painting. 🐈🐱 With its soft and delicate body resting on the hard concrete, it looks both free and lonely amidst the boats and rocks, facing the vast horizon. Its grey-and-white fur blends perfectly with the still sea and the misty grey sky.

Does time change? Does space change? Perhaps... but the stillness in that 'Moment' is permanent. My father's vision on that shore comes to life today in the posture of a cat.
