Barah Maha: Phalgun

Beaming with joy and blissful love, the human-bride is experiencing an inner state of fulfillment. Her consciousness is truly exuding everlasting Divine presence. This is a result of detaching herself from material and other loves, and allocating that love to the inculcated virtues. In doing so, she makes herself worthy to IkOankar, pleading to be graced with the Presence in her heart.

ਫਲਗੁਨਿ ਮਨਿ ਰਹਸੀ ਪ੍ਰੇਮੁ ਸੁਭਾਇਆ ॥
ਅਨਦਿਨੁ ਰਹਸੁ ਭਇਆ ਆਪੁ ਗਵਾਇਆ ॥
ਮਨ ਮੋਹੁ ਚੁਕਾਇਆ ਜਾ ਤਿਸੁ ਭਾਇਆ ਕਰਿ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਘਰਿ ਆਓ ॥
ਬਹੁਤੇ ਵੇਸ ਕਰੀ ਪਿਰ ਬਾਝਹੁ ਮਹਲੀ ਲਹਾ ਨ ਥਾਓ ॥
ਹਾਰ ਡੋਰ ਰਸ ਪਾਟ ਪਟੰਬਰ ਪਿਰਿ ਲੋੜੀ ਸੀਗਾਰੀ ॥
ਨਾਨਕ ਮੇਲਿ ਲਈ ਗੁਰਿ ਅਪਣੈ ਘਰਿ ਵਰੁ ਪਾਇਆ ਨਾਰੀ ॥੧੬॥

Interpretive Transcreation
Message through the month of Phalgun: The seeker to whom love of IkOankar became endearing, flourished from within.
That seeker overcame egoism and rejoiced continuously in eternal bliss.
When IkOankar willed it, the seeker overcame attachment of the mind. The seeker pled, O IkOankar! Bestow grace, come into my heart.
Without Your love, I wear many superficial adornments, but I cannot find a place at Your abode.
At the end of the stanza, by using the signature ‘Nanak,’ Guru Nanak states that, it is as if the seeker desired by IkOankar has been adorned with all kinds of beautiful ornaments, costumes, and tastes of betel.
The fortunate seeker who has been united with the Wisdom (Guru), has found union with IkOankar within their heart.16.
