11 May 1940 | Confusion on the Dutch side

Описание: During the invasion in the Netherlands there was a lot of fear and confusion on the second day. Dutch troops were very afraid of saboteurs or German soldiers dressed as civilians. Because of this there was a lot of miscommunication to the point many Dutch soldiers started to shoot at own troops. On this day also the first frontline of the Grebbe line was taken by German SS troops. These were the troops of SS-Leibstandarte 'Adolf Hitler' and SS-Standarte 'Der Führer'. In the south the 9th Panzer-Division advanced without much resistance to the point that they were able to get in radio contact with the Fallschirmjägers near the Moerdijk bridges.
