Just got back from Edwards Pipe & Tobacco in Tampa—a true landmark since 1960—and walked out with what might be the best smoking pipe I've ever owned: this vintage 1970s–80s H. Yanik bent billiard lattice meerschaum. Hand-carved undercut lattice from Turkey, nice patina already developing, perfect draw, and it smokes incredibly cool and dry.
Also grabbed some BLWB bulk (Lane's Burley Light Without a Bite)—mild, nutty burley with no tongue sting, smooth as can be.
These old pipes remind me: good things take time, like a fine carving or finding the right shop. Slow down and enjoy.
