My pop at an American IPA colour is good and taste is defo on the bitter forward end of the spectrum as I wanted it. Maybe could have done with more citra in every place for more citrusy flavour vibes but let’s see what another 3 weeks does in a cool place for it.
What’s in it?
Malts:
• 1.5kg pilsner malt
• 350g light crystal malt
• 250g best malt (this was random as I miscalculated but it works)
• 200g cara pils
• 250g light Munich malt
Hops: for boil
• 10g magnum - 60min boil
• 6g magnum - 15min from end of the boil
• 5g Citra - 15mins from end of boil
• 10g Columbus - 5mins from the end
• 5g Columbus - 1min from the end
Hops: for dry hopping on day 4
• 17.5g Columbus dry hop
• 14g Citra dry hop
• 14g magnum dry hop
Mash temperatures:
• 65C for 20min
• 67C for 20min
• 69C for 20min
• raised to 76C before sparging (not sure it was needed. Didn’t do it for the next brew)
Yeast:
•Mangrove Jack M44 west coast yeast
