What we see here is a Lakewood 18" high velocity fan model HV-18, first generation, from circa the 1970s. The first generation of HV-18s is often considered to be the best in terms of both performance and build quality. It uses a massive GE 1/6HP 4 pole shaded pole motor driving wide, deep pitched, heavy gauge aluminum blades. The speed separation is... almost nonexistent. And it boggles my mind to think that this was originally marketed as a house fan.
Lakewood first introduced their HV series circulators in 1973. This style of HV with the spiral cage was made through 1986 when it was replaced by the more common radial cage version, though versions of the HV series that Lakewood offered through private labels (such as Dayton/Grainger and Airmaster) remained spiral cage until Lakewood ceased badge engineering the HV series. The HV series technically lasted until the very end in 2009, though most collectors consider the 2003 production shift to China to be the official "death" of the Lakewood HV series.
