I spent the last couple of months learning a bit more about video making and I was able to upgrade my tools, so hopefully this video should look better produced.

Now, regarding the song.

I have listened to Vocaloid music since high school (I'm a hardcore fan of Ryo and Supercell). Naturally, I always wanted to make my own Vocaloid covers, but I never got the hang of the software.

Last year, I tried the new Synthesizer V Studio and I was blown away with both the new AI voice banks, and with how intuitive it is to use, so I got a license for the Saki AI voicebank and started looking for a song to cover. Leia came to my mind quickly since it is one of the most nostalgic and emblematic vocaloid songs from my school days.

Originally this was going to be a piano and voice cover but, same as always, I wanted more punch on the song, so I added drums and invited my friend Maletinck for the bass. The result is a very unorthodox configuration for a metal song, but it is surprisingly heavy regardless. I tuned the piano sound to be very metallic and distorted, and the arrangement is very percussive.

In the solo section I made a mashup with Reon, which is the sequel song to Leia. A small surprise for hardcore Vocaloid fans.

I'm quite pleased with the result. Hope you like it too!
