USB Type-C port replacement on a VAPORESSO XROS PRO is a great fun and money saving job and it is a precise little job but totally doable. if you’ve got some basic soldering skills. this involves delicate work, so steady hands and the right tools are key.

What You’ll Need: Replacement USB Type-C port (make sure it matches the original in size and pin layout). Soldering iron (fine tip preferred). Solder wick or desoldering pump. Sodlering Flux. Fine solder wire. Small Phillips.
Tweezers. Anti-static mat or wrist strap.

Steps to Replace the USB-C Port:
1. Disassemble the XROS PRO. Remove the pod. remove side cover using sharp knife edge (be careful not to crack the plastic). Open the casing to expose the circuit board.
2. Locate the USB-C Port. Identify the port on the PCB. Inspect the solder joints to confirm the damage (loose, broken, or corroded pins).
3 Desolder the Broken Port. Apply flux to the old solder joints. Use a soldering iron to heat each pin. Use a solder wick or desoldering pump to remove the old solder. Gently lift the port off with tweezers once all pins are free.
4. Clean the Pads. Once the old port is off, clean the pads with isopropyl alcohol. Inspect for any lifted or damaged pads — if pads are missing, you may need jumper wires to reconnect traces.
5. Install the New USB-C Port. Align the new port perfectly with the pads.
Apply flux again. Solder the mounting legs first (for mechanical stability). Carefully solder each pin, making sure no bridges form. Inspect with a magnifier for clean connections.
6. Reassemble the Device. Once the port is secure and cool, reassemble the XROS PRO. Test the charging and data connection before fully closing it up.
