I'll show you how to print with real copper-filled PLA turning basic models into realistic metal-looking statues using post-processing and patina techniques. I'm using Protopasta's copper-filled PLA with two times the density of regular PLA, resulting in a real metal feel.
The process involves:
Print settings for copper filament
Tumbling the prints with 320-grit media for a smoother surface
Creating a solution for patina that mimics natural oxidation seen on real copper (like the Statue of Liberty)
Comparing different patina methods
