DHARTI (Digital Humanities Alliance for Research and Teaching Innovations ) in its previous avatar as DHAI (Digital Humanities Alliance of India) organized the first DH conference in India in June 2018 at IIM Indore, in collaboration with IIT Indore.
The first keynote speech at the conference was delivered by Prof. Paul Arthur, Chair in Digital Humanities and Social Sciences, and Director of the Edith Cowan Centre for Global Issues, in the School of Arts and Humanities. He spoke on "
Professor Paul Arthur is known as a leading figure in the development of the field of digital humanities in Australia and internationally, and he was Australia’s first Professor in Digital Humanities (at Western Sydney University). He was also inaugural President of the Australasian Association for Digital Humanities, and a member of the steering committee of the Alliance of Digital Humanities Organizations and executive council of centerNet, the international network of digital humanities centres.
