Facing Fears - Rock Climbing in Meteora, Greece

Meteora, Greece is one of the most beautiful places we have ever seen. Located about a 4 hour train ride or five hour drive from Athens, Meteora is comprised of unique pillar of rock, with monasteries sitting on top of its cliffs. It feels like a whole different world, one that you never want to leave.

This trip was also a bit of a retreat for us, and since we have different ways of relaxing, one of us explored the monasteries and rock formations while the other enjoyed the views from the town and hotel pool. After reconnecting and sharing our experiences with each other, we prepared for the main event.

If you have been following our channel for a while, you know that Danny has a serious fear of heights. But he always looks for ways to face his fear and this time, it resulted in a desire to try rock climbing. Since Meteora is known as a prime climbing location, it seemed like a must.

The climb however did not go exactly as planned. After successfully completely the first pitch, Danny experienced a panic attack. He was able to rappel back down, and we are proud that he not only tried rock climbing, but made it over 30 meters up the wall! Please leave an encouraging comment for Danny - I am not sure of how many people with a fear of heights would sign up for this!

All in all, Meteora was amazing and we highly recommend a visit!
