It's again the season where the alokon tree blooms its flowers. We people in the northern part of the Philippines utilize the flowers and young leaves on some dishes. I grew up eating this vegetable. My mother cooks dinengdeng using this ingredient. There are many kinds of dinengdeng but alokon dinengdeng is one of my favorites.
