This is a guided exploration of how to get easily and safely down to the floor so you can completely let go - just for a few minutes. You are more resilient than you know, but..you don't always have hold it all together.

00:00 – 01:00 Introduction to constructive rest: refresh and renew your spirits
01:00 – 02:44 Bony landmarks and anatomy to help you make the most of the guided exercise: the temporal mastoid process and the pubic arch/pubic bone
02:45 – 03:30 Guided practice setup: a chair and support for the back of your head when you lie down
03:31 – 5:30 Lowering your body closer to the ground in a mini-squat, using a gentle rocking of head, pelvis, hips, knees and ankles with gentle wave like motion of your spine
05:31 – 06:44 In half-squat, adding a gentle turning/rotational motion to increase freedom and mobility in all joints as you get closer to the ground
06:34 – 07:30 Using the chair to shift weight to your hands first, then crawling backwards and continuing gentle rotation to lie on your side
07:30 – 10:21 Adding in awareness of your breath: 3 exhale/inhale cycles per position as you lie on your side and rotate onto your back
10:21 – 13:33 Relinquishing full weight of your legs, arms, head and torso to the ground: variations for extending and folding limbs to find comfort, release, and completely let go.
13:34 – 14:52 Reversing the movement pathway by beginning with easy turn of your head, to rotate torso and hips, to rise back to standing – without tensing yourself back up again.
