On the 1st March 1926, the very first electrified service departed at 7:54am from Central to Oatley. Today, 1st March 2026, marks 100 years since the first electrified service commenced. Run by Red Set F1 with all four carriages built in 1927 (including C3426, which led the very first passenger service across the Sydney Harbour Bridge on opening day on the 19th March 1932), this preserved single deck set is running from Central to Oatley and back to celebrate 100 years of electrified services.
Here we see it arrive into Central Platform 22, then we see it pass through Kogarah, Rockdale and Wolli Creek before returning to Central and depart Platform 20, then turns back to Platform 22 to drop off some staff before departing empty.
