Antibiotics for strep aren’t just about comfort, they’re about prevention.
We use them for two reasons:
1️⃣ To shorten the duration of symptoms
2️⃣ To prevent life-threatening complications

If untreated, strep bacteria can spread and cause:
❤️ Rheumatic fever – damages the heart valves
💧 Post-strep kidney inflammation
🦠 Invasive strep infections – including toxic shock or necrotizing fasciitis

Are these complications rare?
Yes.

But are they worth the risk when a safe, proven treatment exists?
Absolutely not! Especially when we’re talking about our kids’ lives.
