Prerequisites as below:
A bootable Clonezilla Live USB flash drive.
The source USB disk you want to clone.
The target, larger hard disk.
Step 1: Boot Clonezilla in Expert mode
Boot your computer using the Clonezilla Live USB flash drive.
Follow the on-screen prompts to select your language and keyboard layout.
Choose the option "Start Clonezilla".
When asked for the mode, choose "Expert".
Step 2: Choose your disks and cloning options
Select the disk_to_local_disk option to clone one disk directly to another.
Choose the source disk, which is your smaller USB drive. Be very careful to select the correct disk to avoid data loss.
Choose the target disk, which is your larger hard disk. Again, confirm this selection carefully, as all data on the target disk will be overwritten.
Step 3: Enable the resize options
Continue through the options until you reach the advanced parameters screen.
Make sure the -k1 option is selected. This tells Clonezilla to create the partition table proportionally on the target disk, using the full available space.
Ensure the -r option is selected as well. This option is crucial for automatically resizing the file system within the partitions to match the new, larger partition size.
Step 4: Start the cloning process
Proceed with the remaining prompts. Clonezilla will show you a confirmation screen summarizing the operation.
Enter 'y' to begin the cloning process.
Wait for Clonezilla to complete the cloning and resizing. The time required will depend on the size and speed of your disks.
