Описание: The Roland Clift Lecture at the University of Surrey is an annual event at which a well-known figure addresses a topic concerning “the future of human society and how quality of life will be affected by technical, environmental and social developments, where the analysis is based on empirical evidence”.

The 2025 Annual Roland Clift Lecture was co-hosted by the Centre for Environment and Sustainability (CES) and the Institute for Sustainability at the University of Surrey. The lecture was given by Alistair Lewis, Professor of Atmospheric Chemistry at the University of York.

The lecture was followed by a panel discussion with Fernando Castro, Department Head of Science at the National Physical Laboratory, Victoria Hurth, Independent pracademic and Chair of the Institute for Sustainability Advisory Board and Subhamoy Bhattacharya, Chair in geomechanics.
