Struggling with massive orchestral templates in Reaper? There’s a smarter way to compose.
In this video, I show you how to use MIDI Note Channels in Reaper to control multiple articulations inside a single sample library instance - without key switching and without building a 500-track orchestral template behemoth.
If you’re writing orchestral music with libraries like Spitfire Audio, EastWest, Sine, VSL or any multi-articulation Kontakt instrument, this workflow will completely change how you think about arranging.
Instead of spreading articulations (legato, staccato, tremolo, pizzicato, con sordino, etc.) across dozens of tracks, I demonstrate how to:
• Assign each articulation to its own MIDI channel
• Compose naturally on one track
• Edit CC curves per articulation
• Improve realism and phrasing
• Avoid key switch headaches
• Reduce template size and CPU load
