A key accused linked to the murder of prominent Patna businessman Gopal Khemka was shot dead in an encounter with the police on Tuesday morning, offcials told India Today TV. The incident took place in the Mal Salami area of Patna City when police teams attempted to arrest the suspect.
According to police, Raja had allegedly supplied the weapon used to kill Khemka and was linked to shooter Umesh, the prime suspect in the case.
Police said Raja opened fire when a team reached the area to nab him, prompting retaliatory firing in which he was killed. Police recovered a pistol, live cartridges, and spent shells from the encounter site. Raja’s body has been sent for post-mortem.
