POSITION OF BABY AT 19 WEEKS PREGNANT

Today in this video we are going to talk about the position of the baby during the 19th week (5th month) of your pregnancy. You have completed almost half of the journey of your pregnancy and you’re proceeding fast to cover the rest of it. This phase brings a lot of surprises for you. Let’s learn more in detail about them.

BABY’s POSITION AT 19 WEEKS PREGNANT

The height of the fetus during the 19th week of pregnancy is approximately 15.3cm (crown to rump) and the weight is approximately 240 grams. The size of the baby during this stage is either like a mango or a banana. However, after the 19th week of pregnancy, the baby’s weight starts increasing rapidly.

A waxy coating called Vernix Caseosa forms a protective layer on the entire body of the baby. It automatically goes off the baby’s skin after childbirth.

Soft, fine hair called Lanugo covers the entire body of the baby to keep him/her safe inside the womb from amniotic fluid. The body temperature of the baby also remains normal because of Lanugo.

The production of brown fat also begins in your baby’s body.

During this stage, the kidneys of the baby have started functioning well and now the baby can produce and expel urine in the amniotic fluid.

The lungs of your baby start developing gradually along with the main airways in the lungs that are called Bronchioles.

The pattern of your baby’s fingerprints and the toeprints are set by this stage. Not only this, the 5 senses of your baby also begin to develop during this stage.

YOUR BODY AT WEEK 19 OF PREGNANCY

Your body undergoes massive changes during this phase of pregnancy. Where at one time you might be feeling super active and just after a few minutes you might start feeling exhausted.

Dizziness- You might experience dizziness when the growing uterus begins to put pressure on your blood vessels.

Weight gains- Your appetite increases at this stage which tends to impact your body weight as well. You must keep a check on your diet.

Changes in breasts- Your nipples begin to expel some thick yellowish milk which is called Colostrum.

Hot flashes- You might feel too hot because of the excess blood flow in your body. You might sweat even after sitting inside an air-conditioned room.

Constipation/Bloating- If you’re not taking iron supplements along with a healthy diet then you might have to experience constipation.

Abdominal pain- The growing child in the uterus begins to shift all the organs inside your body and because of that you might feel pain in the abdomen and around it. This pain is called Round Ligament Pains.

Body ache- Carrying a baby inside the womb can give you many unbearable pains. You might feel terrible pain in your lower back.

Cramps- You might feel cramps in your leg due to pregnancy weight gain, hormones, and fatigue.

Stretch marks- When the growing baby is making room for himself/herself inside your womb then you might experience stretch marks on your breasts, hips, thighs, and abdomen.

Changes in the skin- You might get dark patches on your nose, cheeks, and forehead and that is called Chloasma. This happens because of hormonal changes.
