50 Years Old Feeder Tank Collapsed, Torrent of Water Flooded Homes & Swept Away Vehicles in Kochi

Описание: The collapse occurred when one chamber of a 50 year old Kerala Water Authority feeder tank burst, releasing 1.38 crore liters of water that flooded homes and swept away vehicles. The incident happened between 2 am and 2:30 am in the Thammanam area of Kochi, when one side of a massive feeder tank at the Kerala Water Authority (KWA) pump house gave way. Officials believe the tank was over 50 years old, and its structural integrity may have been compromised due to age and lack of maintenance.
