🌾 Ingredients

1 medium cup broken wheat (Dalia / Laapsi)

1 small cup jaggery (crushed or powdered)

3 tbsp ghee

2½ cups water

pinch of cardamom powder

10–12 cashew nuts

Few saffron [soaked in water]

pinch of salt

👩‍🍳 Step-by-Step Preparation

1️⃣ Roast the Wheat
Heat ghee in a heavy pan. Add broken wheat and roast on low flame until aromatic and light golden.

2️⃣ Cook the Dalia
Add water carefully, mix well, cover, and cook until the wheat becomes soft and fluffy.

3️⃣ Add Jaggery
Add crushed jaggery and mix gently. Cook until it melts and blends evenly.

4️⃣ Flavour & Garnish
Add saffron, and salt mix gently. Add cardamom powder, fried cashew nuts and give a quick mix.

5️⃣ Final Cooking
Cook until the Laapsi thickens and leaves the sides of the pan.

6️⃣ Serve Hot
Serve warm for best flavour — perfect for festivals and puja offerings.
