A shocking food scam has been exposed in Hyderabad. Police have busted a fake ginger garlic paste manufacturing unit in the city. In a shocking revelation, officials found that the paste being sold in the market did not contain real ginger or garlic.

According to police investigation, the accused were allegedly mixing banana stem pulp with salt and acetic acid to prepare fake ginger garlic paste. The illegal manufacturing unit was operating near MS Maktha, Railway Gate area under Khairatabad limits.

In this case, a 21-year-old man named Jasani Ilyan has been arrested. The accused was reportedly producing and selling adulterated paste under the name “JJ Foods.” It was also found that the business was running with an expired FSSAI license.

Police seized around 4000 kilograms of adulterated ginger garlic paste from the location. The fake products were being supplied to hotels and grocery stores in different parts of the city.
