This is our first road trip of 2026 and instead of a normal highway drive, we took Tata Sierra TGDI straight into the Himalayas.
We travelled to Darma Valley and the Panchachuli Base Camp route (Uttarakhand) to understand how the car behaves outside launch events and city test drives. Manufacturer claims are usually experienced in ideal conditions, but real buyers drive in traffic, mountains, broken roads and extreme weather.
So we decided to test the car in actual Indian conditions.
During this trip the car experienced:
• High-altitude driving
• Long steep climbs
• Snow-covered roads
• Black ice patches
• 4 passengers + luggage
• Continuous cold starts and long idling in low temperatures
