Makara Sankranti is an auspicious festival observed during the month of Magha, dedicated to Surya Devata, Bhagavan Vishnu, and Devi Mahalakshmi. Celebrated as the onset of the harvest season, it reflects our gratitude to nature and its abundance. Across India, the festival is known by various names—Bihu in Assam, Lohri in Punjab, and Pongal in Tamil Nadu—and is marked by traditional rituals, vibrant decorations, kite flying, and the sacred Lakshmi Narayana Puja.
