This mutton ratha poriyal is a healthy iron rich recipe. Idli, chutney and this mutton blood fry for breakfast on a Sunday would be awesome. Such a simple and healthy side dish recipe which I am going to explain in detail.
Ingredients
Goat blood 1( 500 gm approx)
Garlic paste 1 tsp
Onions 3 finely chopped
Sesame oil 1/2 cup
Mustard seeds 1/2 tsp
Cumin seeds 1/4 tsp
Urad dal 1/2 tsp
Green chillies 3
Garlic cloves 10
Turmeric powder 1/4 tsp
Pepper powder 1/2 tsp
Curry and coriander leaves few
Salt and water as required
How to prepare
Take 1 quantity of goat blood drain the excess water. Blood will be thick jelly like consistency.
Transfer it to a pan. To this add little garlic paste, chopped onions and required water and cook for 15 mins. Keep this aside.
Heat oil in a pan. Throw in mustard seeds, cumin seeds, urad dal and curry leaves.
Add chopped onions and green chillies and saute for few minutes.
Add garlic cloves and half tsp of garlic paste.
Add required salt.
Add turmeric powder.
Then add the goat blood and pepper powder.
Smash well till the goat blood breaks into small pieces. Smashing the blood well is very important. So that ratha poriyal consistency will be perfect.
Let it cook for 10 mins. Once it starts cooking, the color will change into darker color from red color.
Continue cook till all the water evaporates from the cooked blood and well cooked. This will take around 10- 15 minutes.
Now add chopped coriander leaves.
Give a quick mix, remove from the stove. Delicious Ratha poriyal is ready to eat!!
