Описание:
The energy from the breakdown of glucose (to carbon dioxide) is now stored in the reduced coenzymes NAD and FAD. This energy is used to create a proton gradient when electrons from reduced NAD and FAD are passed on to the electron transport chain (ETC). The energy in the gradient is used to synthesise ATP when protons move down the proton gradient through the ATP synthase enzyme. Oxygen is converted to water when it accepts the electrons exiting the ETC.
