While any warbird brings some history along with it, this particular fighter, a 1942 Spitfire Mk.IX, brought more than its share when it came to EAA AirVenture Oshkosh 2017. The airplane, owned and operated by the Collings Foundation, is a well-documented veteran of more than 100 combat missions in WWII.
