Lloret de Mar is a town and municipality in the comarca of Selva in the province of Girona, Catalonia, Spain. It is on the Mediterranean coast, about 75 kilometres northeast of Barcelona.
The "La Dona Marinera" sculpture is a symbol of the city of Lloret de Mar, a popular tourist destination on the Costa Brava in Spain. The statue, which is made of bronze, was created by the Catalan sculptor Ernest Maragall and was unveiled in 1966.
