A shocking theft incident has come to light from Maan Resort located on Phagwara–Ludhiana Road, where a Jago ceremony organized for a wedding celebration turned into chaos after two unidentified youths fled with a bag containing valuables worth nearly ₹20 lakh.

According to the complaint, the bag contained gold jewellery, foreign currency, Indian cash, and other important items. The incident occurred while family members and relatives were busy enjoying the traditional Jago rituals on stage.

Victim Kulwinder Kaur informed that the Jago ceremony was being held for her son’s wedding at Maan Resort, Phagwara. During the celebrations, when she was performing rituals on the stage, unknown persons took advantage of the crowd and stole her bag.

CCTV footage from the resort reportedly shows two young men wearing coats and pants, who were initially seen mingling with guests. Moments later, they are seen escaping with the stolen bag. Based on the footage, police suspect the accused had entered the event deliberately with criminal intent.

The matter has been reported to the local police, who have started an investigation and are scanning CCTV footage to identify and arrest the culprits.

This incident raises serious concerns about security at wedding functions and resorts, especially during crowded celebrations.
