We head over the hill to the vineyard reservoir, where three generations of the Stolpman family are gathered — kids flying down the waterslide, Pete grilling steak tacos, and longtime vineyard manager Ruben Solorzano sharing the afternoon with his family.

Sitting beside the water, we talk with Tom Stolpman, who purchased this land in 1990, about the decades-long process of shaping the vineyard, the financial risks along the way, and the pride of watching Pete carry the vision forward.
