Highlights from game five of the 1997 NHL Eastern Conference Quarterfinals between third seed Philadelphia Flyers game and sixth seeded Pittsburgh Penguins at CoreStates Center in Philadelphia on April 26, 1997. The Flyers looked to close out the Penguins and advance to the second round with a win.
The game aired on PRISM in Philadelphia with Jim Jackson and Gary Dornhoefer commentating.
Philadelphia looked to put Pittsburgh away after two short handed goals by Rod Brind'Amour separated by 54 seconds made it a 3-2 game. But Ron Francis tied it early in the second for Pittsburgh.
The Flyers then scored three unanswered goals (John LeClair, Trent Klatt and Vinny Prospal) to take the game and series. The game was also notable for being the final game in Mario Lemieux's career until he unretired three years later.
