Stop 1: Amrapali Bar – Classic Mumbai Dive Bar
If you're into budget beer, Mumbai-style chicken tikka, and a bar with quirky charm, Amrapali is your place. Located in a narrow Fort Lane, it serves affordable drinks, has retro decor, and even comes with a mini history lesson through its menu. The beer is cheap, the mojitos are (a little too) sweet, and the food comes in generous quantities. Bonus? You get a finger bowl in a dive bar. Yes, really.

Stop 2: Fountain Inn – Quarter Bar with Character
Known as a true-blue quarter bar in South Bombay, Fountain Inn is a favorite among middle-aged locals and fans of old-school Bollywood charm. It’s cheap, nostalgic, and feels like a classic Uncle bar. Alcohol is served in quarters, the decor is dedicated to 90s film stars, and the food is average but serviceable. The prawns were slightly overcooked and overpriced for the quality but the bar’s raw vibe makes up for it.

Stop 3: Mocambo – A Fort Hidden Gem with Bollywood History
"Mogambo khush hua" — and so were we! Mocambo is a hidden gem with walls signed by Bollywood stars like Akshay Kumar and Aditya Roy Kapur. The vibe is no-frills, the cocktail menu is limited (3 to be exact!) but fun. Remember the sugary mojito from Amrapali? Turns out these were sugary too, but less so compared to the first ones. And surprisingly, wine is the most popular order. If you’re doing a random Mumbai bar crawl, this is a great last-minute drinking spot.

Coming to the food, it was fresh out of the kitchen, like it was waiting for us to hop in. If you have no plans about where to go and you are in the Fort area, we suggest that this is the place where you can jump right into, without any plans, a sweet, small area with great food and good drinks.
