3 cupcakes iced with buttercream
palette knife
flat plastic chopping board or no stick cutting mat
no stick rolling pin
corn flour bag for dusting
sharp pointy craft knife
circle cutters (6&1/2cm wide & 4cm wide) or use circle templates
FMM (brand) Alphabet & Numbers Cutter Set
paper templates cut out with scissors (templates link below)
water in a cup & small brush for sticking on fondant decorations
fondant icing in the following colours - red, yellow, flesh & white
toothpick
black liquid food colour

Fondant icing is an icing you can get from your local supermarket. It is a sugar dough which can be used as an edible modelling material for making cake decorations such as flowers, or to fold over a cake for a smooth appearance. At Woolworths in Australia you can get brands called Orchards White Icing or Queens (pre -coloured fondant in the cake decorating section). I am using a brand called Bakel's Pettinince Icing.
