The roof of the new Ram Temple in Ayodhya sprung a leak during the pre-monsoon rains witnessed in the temple town, according to Acharya Satyendra Das, the head priest of the temple.
The head priest said that the roof over the sanctum sanctorum started leaking during the night, although he did not specify the exact time or day when it happened.
The leak was discovered by the temple's priests and devotees when they entered the temple in the morning.
The head priest expressed dismay at the situation, saying it was surprising and sad that despite the involvement of experienced engineers and workers, the temple's roof started leaking during the first rain of the season.
