Udupi Hijab Row: National Human Rights Commission Takes Cognizance, Writes To District Magistrate

Описание: National Human Rights Commission has now issued a notice to the district magistrate of Udupi, Karnataka in connection with the Udupi Hijab Row. The NHRC has now taken cognizance of the matter after several female students were denied to enter classrooms because they were wearing hijabs. Several students belonging to the right-wing group then came forward wearing saffron colour shawls and scarves. The NHRC has now written to the district magistrate, stating that banning students because of Hijab is a human rights violation and the commission has now demanded facts in the matter.
