Part 2 of 8
Oral history recorded by William Henry Sanders, an early resident of Palm Beach County in its pioneer days. Sanders was born in Kansas in 1868, and came in ca. 1890 to what would become Palm Beach County. He married Hattie Gale, the first schoolteacher in Palm Beach County.
This sweeping history of the pioneer days was recorded by Mr. Sanders in the early 1960s at the request of Judge James R. Knott. Mr. Sanders recorded the eight-part series, which is over eight hours. In some places he reads from family history documents, including his wife's memoirs of her days teaching in the area.
Sanders died in 1967 at the age of 99 and is buried in Missouri.
