Global Humane Conservation Fund of Africa supported the successful translocation of 42 elephants to the Kabouga section of Addo Elephant National Park.
As part of the operation, GPS tracking collars were fitted to the matriarch of each family group to monitor their movements and well-being after relocation. These collars provide real-time data that helps rangers track the elephants, identify potential threats like poaching or human-wildlife conflict, and make informed conservation decisions and helps paint a clear picture of how the herds are settling in to their new home.
