Airbnb rental vacation home - The Keeley Villa is built on the edge of the village of Kastro, on top of a high cliff on the island's northwestern shore on the site of the ancient Kastro in the Cyclades Island group in Greece. The village has extensive medieval remains and is the location of the island's archeological museum.
Our private one story Villa house has 3 bedrooms and comfortably sleeps five individuals. It has a full kitchen, dining room and leisure space. The star of our Villa is the stunning wrap around veranda that allows for panoramic views of the Aegean Sea!
Guests at the Keeley Villa will have access to stunning sunsets, full use of the Villa, and free wifi and cable. The house is located at the end of a path with stairs to climb that may be difficult for an elderly person. The caretaker or the taxi driver can assist. Please read the house notes at the start of your stay, that will familiarize yourself with the house and your stay in Kastro Village.
Our interaction with guests will be via telephone or email interface. The Keeley Villa caretaker, Mrs. Koula Koumakis will greet guests, provide them with a key to the Keeley Villa and be available should a need arise.
Kastro is the old capital of Sifnos and the seat of Sifnos' Archdiocese (6th-19th centuries). Kastro is one of the most picturesque and beautiful villages and the most important village of the island from an archaeological point of view. To the east of Kastro, the picturesque country church of the Seven Martyrs (Eftamartires) on the rock and the open view of the sea are magic. To the north, the ancient path leads to Panagia Poulati (Virgin of Poulati), a landscape of “perfect beauty" and ideal for plunges from the rocks. To the west of the village and under the foot of the hill of Kastro there is the small pebble beach (ancient port of the island) of Gialos or “Seralia", a name deriving from the Turkish word saray (=palace), because of the palaces that once existed in this area.
There is convenient local public transportation in the form of a Sifnos bus(s) that run hourly throughout the island. There is a bus stop at the foot of the path to our Villa. Additionally, a guest has the option of renting a moped or car at the Sifnos port.
